"We choose to go to the moon..."

July 16th, 1969. Where were you?



Watching this video is spellbinding. As the time counts down the tension builds and when the announcer marks the 60 second point a tingle ran up my spine. When the 10 second count down started I almost was having trouble breathing it was so exciting for me. When the engines ignite that giant Saturn V rocket lumbers off the launch pad like a drowsy giant getting up from the dinner table. Compared to this beast the shuttles are thoroughbred race horses; they almost leap off the pads.
