I've been reading in the news this morning about AIG and Citibank crawling back to the public trough to fill up on more of that oh-so-tasty TARP money. Frankly, I'm tired of these dishonest bastards taking my money and wasting it.
It is time for the government to stop fooling around with these people and take the direct action they should have taken in the first place. It is time to nationalize these banks and other financial institutions, fire the executive staffs, reorganize so they can't pull this crap again, and sell them off to highest bidders.
While the government owns these banks it is also the time to re-regulate them. Put the post-depression laws back into place that were put in place in the first place to prevent the kind of behavior that got our economy into this mess.
It was Republican "economic policies" that caused the depression of the 1930s and it was Republican "economic policies" that have caused our current economic woes. Enough! This is proof positive that Republicans can't manage an economy. So nationalize the banks, already, and fix the problem.
